Mahavir International is committed to provide quality eye care
to the needy underprivileged people of Delhi without any caste or religious
bias. It is running 5 fully equipped charitable hospitals in different parts of
the capital where patients get free treatment, medicines & spectacles etc.
To fulfill its dream & vision of making Delhi a 'Cataract Free Zone', the
organization also conducts free eye & cataract operations at its flagship
Rajdhani hospital which has a modern Operation Theatre equipped with the latest
state of the art equipment and services which are comparable to even the best
of private hospitals. It also has advanced facilities for detection &
treatment of Glaucoma (Kala Motia).
The organization has also been part of various Delhi govt. programmes over the
years, for eye screening & check-ups of students, pensioners, Tihar Jail
inmates among others. Regular eye camps are also organized at various places
for check-up & treatment of various eye ailments.
Till date, over 4900 cataract operations & 5 successful cornea
transplants have been performed and over 6.75 lakh patients have received
treatment.

services at our 5 hospitals including Eye Care, Heart
Care, Allopathy, ENT, Gynecology, Homeopathy and Ayurveda, Acupressure,
Refraction / PMT, with well equipped & modernized
diagnostic laboratory.
Also running 7 dispensary at different
locations.
Also organizing Free Eye & Medical check-up camps and running Mobile
Medicare units to provide free medical facilities & distribute free
medicines to poor residents of far flung areas & JJ clusters at their
doorsteps.

So far, more than 7 lakh persons have benefited from these initiatives.
Moving another step closer to realizing its dream of providing
'Sight to all', Mahavir International Delhi had launched yet another
initiative, Eye Donation Pledges & mobilized a host of people from all
walks of life including prominent personalities like Ghazal maestro Jagjit
Singh & his troupe, sitar maestro Shujaat Khan, model Joey Mathew, Avinash
Kaur Sareen, Cricketer Saba Karim, Poonam Azad have pledged their eyes so far.
Over 31057 persons have pledged their eyes so far. Actual eye donations from
67 persons after death have provided sight to 134 blind people..
There are a lot of needy meritorious students coming to Delhi
for competitive exams or pursuing higher studies who cannot afford the expenses
of the capital. To facilitate these students to achieve their career goals,
Mahavir International Delhi has set up a hostel at the premises of Rajdhani
hospital at Nabi Karim. The students are provided lodging & boarding,
nutritious home cooked meals, along with library facilities & telephone
access at very nominal charges. Three students have qualified IAS
examination who were staying in our hostel.
Whenever the need arose, Mahavir International Delhi was quick
to respond. Be it the Cyclone in Orissa, Earthquake in Chamoli (then in UP)
& Gujarat, or the Kargil war, the organization mobilized funds &
resources to help in the relief & reconstruction work. All the members
pitched in and supported in the form of financial assistance as well as sending
essential materials like tents, food items, utensils, clothes & blankets.
Based on the recommendations of this team, Mahavir International Delhi took
up a project for construction & allotment of 26 housing units in Rapar
district, which on completion were handed over to the beneficiaries in October
2002.
As part of its social responsibility of replenishing the
environment, Mahavir International Delhi has been continuously & actively
undertaking Tree Plantation drives. Several parks in East & South Delhi
have been developed, by planting a large no. of trees, and these are also being
regularly maintained by the members in collaboration with the concerned
authorities.
